Installing Concrete Aprons at a Townhome Complex

A new or replacement concrete apron is a great addition to any home. It is a worthwhile investment that will add value and curb appeal. Installing a concrete apron is a task that should be left to a professional concrete contractor. Minnesota Concrete is able to pour multiple aprons in a row for townhome and multi-unit complexes.

Pouring Multiple Concrete Aprons at a Townhome Unit Complex

The prep work that goes into a concrete apron can be the most important step in the pouring process. We make sure to dig out the existing base and back-fill the the space with a gravel or sand. At a minimum we make sure to have a 6″ thick base of granular fill. We then compact the fill to provide a solid base to pour the concrete on. We then add 1/2″ rebar, 2 foot off center before we pour. Once the prep work is complete, crews are ready to start the pouring process. We use a minimum of 4500 psi. concrete when pouring any concrete job. After the aprons have been installed crews finish the surface and add a top sealer to protect from salt and wear and tear.
